A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Change A Lightbulb

When I started changing lightbulbs I was always afraid to turn the bulb too hard incase it exploded.

I imagined glass raining down into my eyes, and the screw part stuck in the socket forever.

I would gingerly turn it one way randomly, then another, going back and forth until it came out or I got too nervous.

The problem was, if I didn't happen to turn the correct way to begin with, I was just tightening it, so half the time I didn't get it out.

Ok, let's use a skill we used in the first video: Lefty loosey, righty tighty.

Remember: if you are reaching around something and turning it, the direction seems backwards.
