A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Juice: Bread Yeast

It's actually unbelievably easy to make your own alcohol. All you need is some juice, sugar and yeast.

Here is the video I learned the recipe from. There are ton of them online though, just look around. Some people are adding air locks, and other improvements, but the basics are the same.

My big mistake was not keeping it warm enough. The first batch I kept in the kitchen during winter. I checked it daily, and the bubbles kept coming slowly for months.

The second and third batches I put in the basement, and checked them every few weeks, same result. It took about 3 months.

I don't have a warm closet to keep them in like Paw Paw suggested in one of his video's, but what I would do is take a page from the moonshine video, and keep the jugs in a cooler full of warm water.

I have made this yeast bread alcohol 3 times now. It get's you drunk, and the hangover is not too bad, but I was ending up with a splitting headache.

The last time I made it, the day after I got a weird kalidoscope effect in my vision for a couple of minutes in one eye. It started off central, and slowly drifted to one side.

When I researched it, it seems to be related to the headache. My (completely uneducated) guess is the yeast produced more methol alcohol, and I poisoned myself more than usual.

It scared me enough to stop playing around with bread yeast... on to Brewers Yeast!
