Communication > CBRadio CB Radio
While having a CB does have it's uses, it's probably not the best case for a prepper.
Where is shines is using it on the road, for local communications. Stuck in traffic, and not sure which lane is closed? Check channel 19 and it's almost guaranteed a trucker will let you know what's going on.
Unfortunately, they are limited to 4 watts power, and repeaters are illegal.
A much better choice would be a GMRS radio. You don't need a license here in Canada (you do in the states). You can go up to 50 wats, and repeaters are legal.
It is not quite as popular as CB radio, but still widely used.
