My mix

Mel's mix has been designed to be the best at what it does, but is unsustainable and will be impossible to get a hold of in any type of emergency.

We are going to have to make due with what we can get.

I am starting with straight compost because it's easy to make and great for plants. It doesn't have the water capacity of Mel's mix, but we can compensate for that.

For my first bed I am cheating by using store bought compost. The absolute cheapest I can find at $2.00 a bag from Home Depot.
